From June the 7th to the 9th 2017, the Universit de Lyon, with the precious help of the New Franco-Chinese Institute, welcomed 23 students from Tongji University as a part of the third edition of their "Excellence Engineers fron Tongji in France" tour. The students have been able to visit some of the campuses and to meet with actors of the Universit de Lyon around the themes of innovation and entrepreneurship, but they were also able to discover the city itself.

The students from Tongji University started their stay by a visit of the emlyon business school’s makers lab, a place dedicated to creativity and digital prototyping where each of them participated in a playful workshop. INSA Lyon organized visits for the students to discover the infrastructure of the research laboratories specialized in engineering on the LyonTech-la Doua campus.

Those visits were interspersed by moments of discussion and more formal presentations as part of a roundtable on the theme of entrepreneurship, organized by the campus of the École centrale de Lyon. That roundtable was composed of representatives of member and associated institutions of the Université de Lyon, as well as actors of the economy in Lyon whom are especially active on the Chinese marketplace; it allowed the students to get a better grasp of the Lyon area on this fruitful theme for their future professional careers.

The Chinese delegation has also made time to discover Lyon’s site and its modernism, by visiting the Museum of Confluences and its area, a place currently in urban renewal.

The tour of the new Franco-Chinese institute has amazed the Chinese students who then were able to realize the extent of the historical links uniting Lyon to their country.

Finally, the delegation has enjoyed a viewing of the wonderful movie by Wong Kar-wai, In the Mood for Love, as a part of the first edition of the outdoors Chinese film festival organized by ENSATT.
